Now here's a popular Indian dish that's been around for thousands of years. When you try it, it's pretty obvious how it withstood the test of time. It first became popular in the US, though, when the First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy was served it on a flight to Bombay in 1962. She raved about it upon her return to the States and it's been one of the most popular Indian dishes here ever since.

Tandoori Chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices, and then cooked in a tandoor (clay oven). Please don't be mad at me, but don't have one of those so I cooked this chicken in an oven not made out of clay. It's loaded with all of the classic warm Indian spices, but I would not call this spice hot. The tomato sauce is laced with a healthy dose of Kashmiri chili powder giving it a mild, comforting warmth. I love love this one.
