My family's farm is primarily a dairy farm, but we've always had a diverse and eclectic mix of fruits and vegetables, chickens, turkeys, ducks, pigs, beef cattle, etc.... that we raised just for us. That is, until I started this pizza business here on the farm and we started sharing our beef.
Our "beefers" are born naturally on pasture each Spring, and drink milk from their mothers for months. They have free reign of the pastures to graze, and they get all the weeds and any less-than-perfect produce from the gardens along the front pasture. In the winter they eat hay, peas, beans, corn, and corn silage. Our beef all have phenomenal marbling at market time. A lifetime of fresh pasture grasses produces more omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids than a purely corn-fed, feed lot steer.
It’s important to us that all of our animals are not only healthy and comfortable, but also happy. They're bred and born for this purpose, and we see it as our purpose to make their lives the best they can be. They run and play with each other, and when they see one of us walking to the gardens they line up for treats. They are friendly, docile animals that came into this world to be cared for, respected, and appreciated. It's our ultimate hope that our beef makes its way to people who appreciate the difference. People who value responsible farming practices just as much as they desire a steak that tastes better than at any restaurant.
NOTE: Your deposit secures the next spot on our list in order. We currently have 14 Beef quarters available for JAN, FEB, MAR, APRIL of this year (2024). Your month is determined by the order in which your deposit is received. Shawn will notify you directly letting you know when you expect your beef. Reach out if you don't hear back soon. Deposits are not refundable but they are transferrable (you may gift or sell them to whomever you like -- many people choose to share with another family.)
